Level 2 charging stations provide 6.6kW to 19.2 kW of power for drivers to charge their electric vehicles. The purpose of the program is to increase the use of electric vehicles in place of gas -powered cars to reduce tailpipe emissions including greenhouse gas emissions in the state. Proposals are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Central Time on February 28, 2023. Projects from several entities can be coordinated by a project manager; however, the additional administrative compensation cannot be covered by the grant. Available funds Approximately $664,000 is available. The maximum award per application is $150,000 ($7,500 for single -port station and $15,000 per dual -port station installation). Match requirements: Eligible sources of a cash match include, but are not limited to, cash, loans, other grants, or capital assets dedicated to the project. • For stations in public places, proposers are required to provide a 20% cash match of eligible expenses regardless of whether the charging stations are located on property that is government owned or not. • For stations for private use at workplaces or multi -unit dwellings, proposers are required to provide a 40% cash match of eligible expenses. How to apply The request for proposal (RFP) and application materials can only be viewed through the online SWIFT portal. The RFP is termed an "Event" within the SWIFT system. 1. Go to the online SWIFT portal(link is external). 2. Click "Bidding opportunities". 3. Find and view the event name "MPCA- Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging" or Event ID: 2000013633. 4. Click "View Bid Package" to see the RFP and forms. (There's no need to log in to see the documents.) Grant applications are only accepted through the SWIFT portal. Applicants interested in applying will need to register as a bidder in the system by clicking on the SWIFT Supplier Portal, then "Register for an Account and Register as a Bidder". Note: If an applicant is already registered in the SWIFT system as a supplier (previously known as a vendor), they do not need to register as a bidder. They will need their supplier ID.
