Rink Preparations:
Public Works staff were busy last month clearing roads of snow and ice, but had time to
continue snow (slush) removal following the 1" of rain and 4-5" of snow immediately following
the rain. The rinks were closed for an extended time while staff removed the slush and then
waited for cold temperatures to return before flooding the rink.
Volunteering:
Due to the short time remaining in the rink season Public Works is canceling the volunteer
Zamboni operator training. With limited time for staff to train any new operators will affect
daily operation in the month of February.
Vinterfest:
Public Works completed Vinterfest preparations the week of Jan 30t"— February 4t". Additional
work was completed on the hockey rink this year because of the warm weather we experienced
throughout the rink season.
