06.d Planning Commission Chair and Vice Chair Approval Staff Report Date of Meeting: February 21, 2023 To: City Council From: Brenda Eklund, City Clerk Re: Approval of Appointment of Planning Commission Chair and Vice Chair Background: The City’s Code of Ordinances, Section 30.08 Advisory Committees and Commissions, provides for the appointment of the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Planning Commission by the Commission from among the members of the Commission, subject to the approval by the Council, for a term of one year. Issue: Should appointments be approved? Proposal Details: At their February 7th meeting, the Planning Commission voted Travis Loeffler as Chair and Jan Hogle as Vice Chair for 2/1/2023 – 1/31/2024. Options: 1) Approve Loeffler as Chair and Hogle as Vice Chair of Planning Commission through 1/31/2024. 2) Do not approve appointments and seek additional recommendation from the P lanning Commission. Fiscal Impact: Commission member compensation is provided for in the adopted budget. Recommendation: Option 1.
