Rink Board Replacement
The dasher board and glass installation are now complete. Final cleanup of the rink and warming house will be
completed prior to flooding.
New LED rink lights have replaced the old inefficient Metal Halid fixtures. This was the completion of an LED
conversion project of the building and rink, intended to be completed in 2020. There are two more exterior
building fixtures to be converted next to the warming house exit doors.
Liten Park
The new grass walking path has been mowed within the park and the park entrance sign has been installed. The
park bench will be installed in the spring or after the potential controlled burn is performed.
Ice Establishment
The unseasonable warm and rainy weather has delayed flooding the rink surfaces. Once ample cold and frost is
observed Public Works staff will commence establishing ice.
No official opening day has been set. Opening will depend on the condition of the hockey rink as it will establish
faster than the pleasure rink. If we open prior to established ice on the pleasure rink, extra rope and signs will be
required to keep skaters off the pleasure rink for safety purposes.
Public Works staff will flood as much as they can prior to the Vinterfest hockey tournament to build up to a 4-to-6-
inch layer of ice, if possible.
