Disc Golf opportunity
I talked to Brittany Hoban, Physical Education teacher at Scandia Elementary School on January 23. She
reached out to the city council via email in late 2023 regarding city use of the school’s disc golf
equipment.
They have disc golf equipment that the school is willing to share with the community. They prefer it to
be used on the adjacent school property for easy access by the kids for their classes, although she didn’t
eliminate the possibility of using any nearby city owned property if available.
They could request a shed for storage of the equipment if on school grounds. The intent would be to
leave the equipment out during the play-season versus taking it out and returning it after each use.
Ms. Hoban will follow up to confirm the school principal Ms. Carufel is still interested.
Oren / Goose Lake Easement
At least one scandia resident has followed up regarding access and walkability of the Goose Lake
pedestrian easement. The resident was asked by the council to take concerns to the parks committee
via the open forum. The committee will take that feedback for discussion and any subsequent
recommendations regarding the easement.
