I understand that no application shall be considered complete unless accompanied by fees as required by city ordinance. Applications for projects requiring more than one type of review shall include the cumulative total of all application fees specified for each type of review. I understand that applicants are required to reimburse the city for all out-of-pocket costs incurred for processing, reviewing and hearing the application. These costs shall include, but are not limited to: parcel searches; publication and mailing of notices; review by the city's engineering, planning and other consultants; legal costs, and recording fees. An escrow deposit to cover these costs will be collected by the city at the time of application. The minimum escrow deposit shall be cumulative total of all minimum escrow deposits for each type of review required for the project, unless reduced as provided for by ordinance. The city may increase the amount of the required escrow deposit at any time if the city's costs are reasonably expected to exceed the minimum amount. Although our current system is workingjust fine, we wanted to take a proactive approach and replace our current system with a new concrete holding tank. There are several reasons why we want to put in a holding tank versus a mound system: 1. The cabin is only used in the summertime and only used one to two weekends a month, if that. No one sleeps at the cabin as we live 20 minutes away. 2. Low water usage. - We only use, maybe, 100 gallons a month for the months of June, July, and August, with far less than that in May and September when the cabin gets opened and/or closed. -There is no dishwasher or washing machine in the cabin and only one bathroom with no tub. 3. The future. We have no plans to upgrade the cabin or rebuild in the near future. Therefore, a mound system is not the right fit for us right now. Rebuilding would require a lot of planning and we would not know where to install a mound system, what size we need for any future endeavors, if in the future city, county, or state codes would change, or if city sewer and water would be brought into the area. We have had conversations with Pete Ganzel, Senior Environmental Specialist at Washington County, and he supports our plan to install a holding tank and would be willing to send a letter of his approval of this variance.
