Re: Tourism Development Opportunities in Scandia
Background: The University of Minnesota Extension Tourism Center has completed work on the
study. Cynthia Messer, the Director of the Tourism Center, made a presentation on the report at
the EDA's Business Breakfast to be held on Wednesday, April 24. A copy of the presentation is
available on the City's website. A copy of the study follows this report.
On pages 3 through 8 and throughout the report there are listings of short-term ideas and
strategies. There should be discussion on the priority of implementation, designating the
individuals or groups that will be responsible for implementation, and updating the EDA work plan
to reflect these activities.
