A spring EDA breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, April 16th beginning at 7:00am to 8:30am. Bruce
Swenson is available to cater the event.
The EDA Board should set the agenda so that staff can mail the invitations with details on what will
be presented at the breakfast. Possible agenda items:
• Open to Business presentation from Tyler Hilsabeck, representative with the Metropolitan
Consortium of Community Developers.
This program offers free, one-on-one, confidential business consulting and lending options
to help entrepreneurs in Open to Business cities through the process of growing or starting
their businesses.
• Chris Eng, Washington County Community Development Agency to speak about available
programming and resources for growing businesses.
• A presentation from a local business owner (Jeff and Julie Gacek, Redeemed Farm,
presented at the November 2019 breakfast).
• Update on tourism, internet initiatives
A draft invitation follows. Invitations should be sent no later than March 24th.

Dear Scandia Business,
The Scandia Economic Development Authority (EDA) invites you to a gathering of
Scandia businesses on Thursday, April 16th. A free breakfast will be served beginning at
7 a.m. with the meeting beginning at 7:30 a.m. The meeting should last no longer than 1
hour.
The meeting is an opportunity to interact with other Scandia business owners and to be
updated on resources that are available to support businesses in Scandia. Insert here
the topics to be presented.
The meeting will include a “Spotlight on Scandia Businesses”. This month’s meeting will
feature a presentation from inset here the business invited to present.
