RE: CARES Act Funds Update
The Covid-19 Business Relief Program
The County is starting the program by making $10 Million available at the program's launch
on August 10th. The County does not know what demand to expect related to demand.
They anticipate coming in late August early September that they will be asking the City if it
has funds available for allocations to Scandia businesses. At the City Council’s September
2nd Work Session, the Council will be asked to authorize the distribution of funds to the
County for this purpose.
Should the City not have an identifiable need related to Covid-19 impacts for the remainder
of the funds, it will be recommended to the City Council to approve the distribution of
remaining funds to the County to assist with County level needs.
