Size: 44 Acres Classification: New Scandia Township Nature Park Wind in the Pines Park Considered by the DNR to be one of the most diverse areas of the county, this park contains remnant prairie and old growth forest. Trail Adjacent Land Use: Just south of the Falls Creek Scientific and Natural Area, near agricultural and residential areas. Adjacent to Falls Creek SNA 3-51 Chapter Three Park System Plan Wind in the Pines Park Site Plan- Existing Conditions Issues: • Create better (and safer) entrance for Wind in the Pines Park from Highway 95 Opportunities: • Promote Wind in the Pines Park as premier nature preserve and scenic area • Provide trailhead for (proposed) Pilar Road bicycle route • Trailhead also serves as transition into Chisago Lake Township New Scandia Township Comprehensive Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation Plan Adopted 18 July 2006 3-52
